Improving Sprayer Performance

Join WSU Extension to improve your sprayer performance. Extension Specialist Gwen Hoheisel will provide an in-field demo.

  • Match spray pattern to canopy shape. Analyze spray distribution and adjust nozzles to get every drop to the crop.
  • Match airspeed to your canopy. Airspeed: how much is enough? How much is too much? Learn how to reduce airspeed with fan speed, blade pitch, and baffles to match canopy type.
  • Cover the target. Look at droplet size to apply many small droplets that will stick to the whole leaf surface. Hoheisel will demo nozzles and pressure gauges.
