FSMA Final Rule Series: “Preventive Controls for Human Food and Animal Feed”

With the publication of FDA’s final Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) rule for Preventive Controls for Human Food and Animal Feed, the Produce Marketing Association and United Fresh Produce Association, in partnership with regional produce association are working together to provide a FREE webinar to help industry members understand the final rules and implications for their businesses.

Our top priority is to assure that all industry members are well informed and have an opportunity to ask questions of FDA about these new regulations. Understanding what businesses are covered or not covered by these regulations and how the specific provisions of each regulation applies to your business is the first step in being prepared to be compliant with these new business requirements. During this webinars, participants will be able to clarify how these new regulations will specifically affect their businesses and also have an opportunity to ask FDA subject matter experts specific questions about these new regulations.

AMS Specialty Crops Programs Presents: “FSMA is Here … Are You Ready?”

The USDA Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) Specialty Crops Program (SCP) invites you to a free live, interactive webinar on the FDA’s recently revised “Current Good Manufacturing Practices and Hazard Analysis and Risk-Based Preventative Controls for Human Foods” regulations under the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA)

This webinar will help you prepare for the new rules, which was displayed on the Federal Register website on Sept. 10, 2015, and is expected to be published shortly. The regulation primarily applies to food processing facilities and their associated operations, yet also may apply to some packing operations and farms, and contains “supply-chain” program requirements that apply to other operations.

  • The key provisions of the final regulation;
  • The applicability of the regulation to your business at the terminal market, wholesale distribution center, or other similar operations;
  • How to comply with the new regulations;
  • Technical assistance and resources, including upcoming training from the Food Safety Preventative Controls Alliance.

The webinar will be lead by Jenny Scott, Senior Advisor in the FDA’s Office of Food Safety Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutritions where she leads the FDA teams on the prevention controls for human food rules and guidance. She will be joined by Leanna Skelton, Biological Scientist with the AMS SCP and liaison for the USDA, and by Samir Assar, Director of FDA’s Division of Produce Safety.
