Insect ID, Scouting and Management

Join the Next Generation Tree Fruit Network and the Pear IPM Team to learn techniques in pest and natural enemy scouting, identification, and management in apples and pears. This event will feature field and laboratory experiences, and a presentation on using phenology models to time management actions.

9:30 to 10:00 am Key Natural Enemies and Pests in Apple and Pear Orchards Introduction
10:00 to 11:00 am Laboratory Exercises: Leaf Brush and Microscopic ID
11:00 to Noon Lunch
Noon to 12:30 pm Pear IPM Concepts – Lecture, Dr. Louis Nottingham
12:30 to 1:30 pm Apple IPM Using Models to Target Pests – Lecture, Dr. Vince Jones
