Next Generation Network: Fruit Breeding 101

October 24 @ 3:30 pm - 5:00 pm

Free

Dr. Kate Evans of WSU will explain the process of how new apple varieties are bred and selected. We will see fruit on the trees of Phase 1 seedling trees at the Columbia View experimental orchard.

Directions

The orchard is located about 10 miles north of Wenatchee off of Highway 2. From Highway 2, turn onto Longview Road SW (take a right if coming from the south, a left if coming from the north), and follow it past Weaver Road up to the orchard. Note: “Longview Road SW” is about 2,000 feet north of the similarly named “Longview Road.”

We will meet outside the gate. Late arrivers will have signs pointing to the block.
