Pear Prunning Demonstration 2020
February 12 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pmFree
When: February 12, 2020 @ 1pm.
Where: 2951 E Richared Rd., Monitor, WA
It is critical that we get enough light into our canopies for good bud development. Large abundant fruit are the goal. Pruning is critical for good spray coverage. Keep those psylla at bay next year.
This year we will focus on managing light in mature canopies:
- Look for a big cut in the top of the tree in shady canopies.
- Detail pruning.
Dr. Stefano Musacchi will be on hand to offer wisdom. Pruning demonstrators will include John Tall, Ray Schmitten, Sam Parker, Dave Piper, Rudy Prey, Shawn Cox, Greg Hardnen.
- We will break up into five to six groups.
- Each group leader will cover major strategies.
No registration. No fee.
** Note: pear pruning demonstrations are on a regional rotation between Omak, Cashmere, Yakima, and Hood River. Next year is in Yakima.
