Seminar on Photoselective Netting

Visiting scientist, Dr. Yosepha Shahak will be presenting a research seminar entitled: “Photoselective Netting: Improving Fruit Production while Coping with Environmental Constraints” at 3:00 pm at the WSU-TFREC large conference room.
Bio: Dr. Yosepha Shahak is heading a research group for plant-light interaction at the Institute of Plant Sciences, Agricultural Research Organization (ARO), The Volcani Center, Bet-Dagan, Israel. Her expertise includes overhead netting and photoselective netting of ornamental, vegetable and fruit crops; photosynthesis; photoinhibition and light stress; photomorphogenesis and practical horticulture. In addition to her own research, Dr. Shahak has served as the chair of the Citriculture Department at the ARO, the Scientific Director of the Northern R&D Center (Mop Zafon) in Israel, and the ARO Assistant Director for Regional Research and Development. She is currently chairing the ISHS sub-working group for Photoselective Netting.
