Young Grower Pear Pruning Demonstration

March 3, 2016 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Are you interested in improving your pear blocks? Are you interested in higher density pears or how higher density techniques can help you in your standard pear blocks?

Join Dr Stefano Musacchi Washington State University Professor of Horticulture and Bob Gix Blue Star Horticulturalist for a demonstration of pear pruning on March 3. We will discuss and demonstrate: tying, spreading and other ways to move away from loppers; simple branches, keeping branches headed up; and controlling the tops of trees in later years.

Meet us at Anjou Bakery in Cashmere. We will go from there to 3 blocks in the area involved in WSU pear research trials. Come ready for discussion. This is your chance to ask questions and share your experience!
