Opportunity – Scientific Assistant Senior

The Scientific Assistant Senior is responsible for setting up, maintaining, and collecting data from a long-term vineyard soil health research site. They are responsible for supervising/managing research operations and personnel. They are also responsible for irrigating, spraying, mowing, fertilizing, harvesting, etc. The scientific assistant senior will work closely with the principal investigator and team to manage all aspects of data generation and field activities. They will be responsible for field sampling, processing samples, and sending samples to analytical labs. They will also be responsible for managing and maintaining a library of data for public use. They will conduct general equipment maintenance and routine care of scientific instrumentation; order supplies, keep inventory records, and maintain a safe working environment. Additional responsibilities include analyzing, interpreting, and presenting data for publication, coordinating with other research and support personnel, and preparing posters/talks for field days and meetings. The position is located at the Irrigated Agriculture Research and Extension Center in Prosser, WA.
