Fiscal Technician 3 (Civil Service Position)

Washington State University’s Tree Fruit Research and Extension Center is seeking a full-time Fiscal Technician 3 (civil service position) for our Wenatchee, WA location. In addition to being a prime location for tree fruit research, extension, and industry opportunities, Wenatchee is a wonderful place to live. Sitting in the shadow of the Cascade Mountain Range and on the confluence of the Wenatchee and Columbia Rivers, our town enjoys stunning mountain views, countless forms of outdoor recreation, and 300 sunny days per year.


Applications must be submitted through the WSU job portal at This position will be responsible for fiscal support functions, including but not limited to: assist in budget analysis, preparation, estimates, monitoring budget status and expenditures; preparing financial reports; facilitate equipment and service purchases. Candidates should be highly organized and detail-oriented and very proficient in MS Word and Excel. We can offer a flexible schedule for the right candidate. REQUIRED Qualifications: high school diploma or equivalent, 15 quarter hours or 10 semester hours of college-level accounting or bookkeeping, and two years of relevant professional experience, OR equivalent education/experience. Knowledge of procurement policies and procedures and experience in analyzing, interpreting, and applying regulations, policies, and procedures in areas related to fiscal management and operations in a comparable, complex organization highly preferred.
