Penn State Extension’s new ‘Bark Grafting’ Learn Now video guides growers through the process of top-working trees, and discusses how to manage the planting in the subsequent years as the grafts begin to refill their allotted space along the trellis. This practice allows a grower to convert a block over to a new variety, rather than having to replant the entire block. The block will start producing fruit earlier, allowing it to become profitable again much sooner. This video is available at Penn State Extension’s Propagation webpage.
