
Industry Day at CAMA 2025 International Conference in Wenatchee

CAMA 2025 is the XIV ISHS scientific conference on Controlled and Modified Atmosphere, held under the aegis of the International Society for Horticultural Science (ISHS) and organized by Washington State University (Convener: Dr. Carolina Torres). The conference is scheduled for May 18-22, 2025, at the Wenatchee Convention Center, and will cover key topics related to Controlled Atmosphere (CA) and Modified Atmosphere Packaging (MAP) for fruit and vegetables, including:
- CA/MAP technologies: Innovations in sensors and monitoring
- Cold chain outcomes: Quality impacts of CA/MAP systems on fruits and vegetables
- Energy consumption and reducing carbon footprints in CA and MAP
- Understanding quality and metabolism under altered atmospheres
To enhance collaboration between research and industry, the organizing committee has set the final day of the conference, May 22, 2025, as the “Industry Day.” This in-person event is for growers and packers from Washington and Oregon and will provide an opportunity to exchange insights and discuss cutting-edge research and best practices to drive industry innovation and growth.
The Industry Day will feature two-panel discussion sessions and sponsor’s talks:
- Panel 1: New Apple Cultivars: What Do We Need to Know to Optimize Storage?
- Panel 2: Pear Disorders and Storage Challenges
