Since 2011, the Washington Tree Fruit Research Commission (WTFRC) has conducted annual studies to provide the Northwest cherry industry basic information about residues of commonly used pesticides. These studies are intended to help growers and consultants make more informed pest management decisions with respect to concerns about Maximum Residue Levels (MRLs) in foreign markets. The WTFRC Internal Program recently completed its 2026 study on cherry at a Skeena block near East Wenatchee. This year’s trial included 14 insecticides/acaricides including the new IRAC Group 30 product Zivalgo™, 5 fungicides, and one plant growth regulator. The results of that study, a new summary report of all WTFRC cherry pesticide residue studies (2012-2026), and archived reports from previous years on apple and cherry are now available on the WTFRC homepage.
