2023 Cherry Institute

January 13, 2023

USD50

The 80th annual Cherry Institute

Friday, January 13, 2023
Yakima Convention Center
10 North 8th Street
Yakima, Washington 98901

This year’s Cherry Institute topics have been selected and guided, as always, by a panel of cherry growers throughout the season.  The topics for this year cover the latest in Little Cherry Disease research, labor issues, production economics, rootstock suitability, and post-harvest technology, as well as developments in crop load and nutrient management research.  Starting the morning off will be the Northwest Cherry Growers presenting a 2022 fresh cherry crop recap, including reviews of the Domestic and Export markets, as well as fresh category and consumer research to help highlight the challenges and opportunities in the coming seasons.  Those planning to stay warm and join us for the lunchtime speaker, Jim Wiesemeyer, will be fascinated with his insights and observations into the (non-partisan) political world as it pertains to agriculture today…and tomorrow.
