Storage Wars: How Exploring the Pear Microbiome Can Help Improve Food Safety and Quality Outcomes During Storage

Dr. Laura Strawn and Dr. Alexis Hamilton of Virginia Tech will be in the Wenatchee and Yakima areas on Monday, April 3rd, and Tuesday, April 4th. Their visit will be a part of a research project, funded by the Center for Produce Safety, entitled “A Metagenomic Approach to Food Safety Risk Mitigation in Pears.” The project was developed in response to a priority put forward by our industry and was supported throughout the consideration process.
