WSU ’Tree Fruit Research and Extension Center is hiring a Technical Assistant to help with day to day laboratory and field work. This position will assist with lab and field duties in a research program and will include preparing specimens, learning protocols, preparing samples for analysis and assist in keeping lab equipment operating properly. Field work will include setting trial, collecting samples and conducting sprays as needed. The position could be a part time or full-time position and will be discussed at hire. The applicant should have at minimum a high school diploma but preferably a college degree. Knowledge in agriculture and lab practices will be highly viewed but not required. Necessary training will be provided as needed. Quick turnaround of accurate results in a fast pace environment is needed. Excellent organizational skills, good communication and reasoning ability are important. The right candidate must possess a valid driver license and be willing to obtain a Pesticide License shortly after hire. WSU is an EEO/AA educator and employer.
