Washington State University, the WSDA Produce Safety Program, and the Washington State Tree Fruit Association are hosting several in-person Produce Safety Alliance Grower Trainings across the state, available in English and Spanish. This training meets the Produce Safety Rule requirement for supervisors or responsible parties who must complete FDA-recognized food safety training. It is also an excellent opportunity for fruit and vegetable growers to learn about produce safety, the new preharvest agricultural water rule, the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA), the Produce Safety Rule, and Good Agricultural Practices (GAPs).
- Introduction to Produce Safety
- Worker Health, Hygiene, and Training
- Soil Amendments
- Wildlife, Domesticated Animals, and Land Use
- Agricultural Water (Part I: Preharvest Water; Part II: Postharvest Water)
- Postharvest Handling and Sanitation
- How to Develop a Farm Food Safety Plan
To sign up for an upcoming training, visit the WSDA website.
