We are currently seeking a dynamic individual for a WSU Tree Fruit Extension Educator – Information and Technology Transfer position. The individual will work with WSU and Washington Tree Fruit Research Commission colleagues, AgTech companies, and fruit growers to develop Extension outreach and applied research programs that inform, educate, and demonstrate successful integration of existing and horizon technologies such as harvest automation, labor assist technologies, cropload management in tree fruit orchard operations. This is a unique opportunity to work across pomology, engineering, and economics with horticulturists, engineers, economists, and world class fruit growers in Washington State! This is a team effort and we are in a long game. The roadmap has been developed, the projects and funding are in place, and apple harvest is only a few months away.
This position is funded through the WSU Tree Fruit Industry Endowment. It is a full time, five-year renewable position with with a competitive salary and benefit package.
