WA 38 Fall Field Visit – Prosser

Join us to discuss horticulture and storage of WA 38 (Cosmic Crisp™), WSU’s newest breeding program release.

  • Observe tree response to mechanical pruning and string thinning.
  • Discuss sunburn.
  • Review harvest planning and storage decisions based on maturity.
  • Observe tree response to tree rejuvenation.
  • Discuss water stress response.

The tour will begin at the WSU ROZA field plots and move to Allan Brothers / Yakima Valley Orchards on N Aller Rd north off of Hanks Rd at 11:30 am.

Directions to WSU ROZA Orchard: 53002 N. Crosby Rd., Prosser, WA 99350 United States

Take N Gap Road North from Prosser, Turn East (right) onto King Tull Rd. Turn left (north) onto Hinzerling, then turn right (east) onto McCready. Follow McCready until Crosby Rd. Turn left (north) onto Crosby Rd. Follow N Crosby Rd crossing over Hanks and then Evans Rd. The WSU ROZA Farm will be on your right between Evans and W Kuhlman Rd.
